External hemorrhoids usually develop just near the lower intestine part of the patient. They swell and usually turn blue or purple in color, especially when thrombosed. External hemroids are usually very painful as the skin around them is very sensitive and has lots of nervous terminations. Take a look at the pictures bellow to get a better idea about their aspect:
As you see, this condition develops close to the opening of the lower passage (near the opening). The skin turns very sensitive in this region causing itching, burning, and pain. When strangulation of external hemorrhoids occurs due to blood supply being cut off, clot formation takes place. This is called thrombosed hemorrhoid which can be excruciatingly hurting. The lower intestine lump calls for immediate medical attention. Bleeding is common when the sensitive lump ruptures. External hemorrhoids may be treated by these procedures:
External hemorrhoids are painful protrusions that make personal care hard to achieve. Many external hemorrhoids gain some kind of clot in their interior. This often occurs in case of diarrhea or, better yet, constipation. Other often encountered symptom is blood present on the toilet paper. The treatment of external hemorrhoids is similar with the treatment for internal hemorrhoids: hemorrhoids creams, warm baths, surgery (Laser Coagulation, photocoagulation or Hemorrhoidectomy described above), ice packs, suppositories, seat cushions, moist tissues and loose underwear. |
